It's been a long time since I last made a proper post. Wonder if there's anybody who still comes to visit. Nevertheless, it's a gd way for mi to look back nw and then to see hw my life had been and reminisce the memories. Something like an online personal diary i guess.

Actually, I don't demand much from my frens. Or I don even demand at all. But sometimes somehow I am misinterpreted. Maybe cuz of the way I talk bah, especially in msn. My reasonings for certain stand or feelings may nt sound strong enough, as in to prove my pt, but that's exactly how I feel. I do not hide feelings, what's the pt? No one in this world is happy forever. Even comedians like Rowan Atkinson aka Mr Bean and Mediacorp host Quan Yi Feng suffer from depression. Why?? Simply cuz they bring happiness to everyone, but yet there's no one they can share their sadness wif. Everyone just assumes they are angels who haf no troubles at all. But that's NOT the truth!! I may feel down by certain responses occasionally bud pls do nt take tt to heart n be disappointed or angry wif it. I'm just letting you know my true feelings instead of hiding it and feeling depressed abt it.

Sometimes, it's gd to step into someone's else foot to experience hw they feel b4 u judge him or her. Do not assume just because his character is usually like tt so he's always like tt. Yes, I do make mistakes (who doesn't) , but do nt just assume i'll make the same mistake over and over again! Do you leave no room for mi to correct myself and just slap tt image onto my face?

I wana thank frens like Guolin (sec sch fren... I happen to know 2 frenz wif exactly the same surname and name... lol... of cuz the other Guolin also nt bad fren la... lol...), Amanda, Jack etc who have nvr failed to help mi out whenever I feel down. Listening to their crap simply brightens mi up. I can consider myself lucky to have met ppl like them throughout my 1st 21 yrs on earth. Hopefully they'll still be my close frenz for more 21 yrs to come....

Anyway, it's time to move on with life. Afterall, life is indeed a miracle.... =)

"Well-deserved" Break

Jux quitted my 2.5 mths stint at some call centre. I muz sae it was a horrifying yet happy experience......

Bad moments:
1) Those customers who jux scold u non-stop w/o even telling u wad prob they r facing and giving u time to tok -- then y call us?? Go scold any statue, they wont bother to answer u anyway.
2) LOW pay.... at a meagre $6/hr b4 CPF deduction, I cannot afford to splurge nor save much for myself. I nid to look for a higher paying job!!

3) Peak periods whereby there'll be reali tons of calls, mostly on mondays and fridays -- u'll be pressurised to pick up as many calls as possible by some team leaders who hound u like a dog.... lol... leavin nt much time to do some after-call-work.

Great moments:

1) Training period -- very slack, jux attend lessons and do some hands-on jux like some jc lectures... sit-in, listen and do... woot~~

2) Frens --- Without them i would haf gone berserk as I always complain to them abt cust... lol.... Regardless whether those whom i known thru the same batch, thru proximity in seats or the latest batch, they were r equally marvellous. It helps tt they r ard the same age. We could be gossiping thru agentchat (sth like msn), toking across our seats, muting calls or jux stand up n ogle at some ppl. U name it, we did it. It was fun, fun and fun... n we managed to get each other's contacts... =)

If nt for the low pay, I might nt haf leave the place. Nevertheless, it's time to look beyond the horizon and search for greener pastures (tts wad singaporeans always sae.... lol). Will be taking a break till chinese new yr then look for jobs. Meanwhile, I'll nt be resting on my laurels as I'll be doing some self-learning, go swim n jog much more often & get my piano skills back up.

Life doesn't get any better than these....

We woke up at a freakingly early 4am. While we were still trying to nudge our way up from the bed, Weihan is already waiting outside my house with his dad's cab!! We rushed to get all our stuff ready and hopped on to the cab.

While deciding whether to eat at mac or bk, we took a stupid picture of ourselves!

Here we go on our way to HK after a bite at the 24h McDonald's in the departure hall. As we were on a budget airline - JetStar Asia, we had pretty much nothing to do onboard other than to sleep! =) So we basically carried on our favourite activity all the way to HK. The rather uncomfortable small leg space we had made us wake up in between our sleep, oblivious to what's happening in the aircraft around us. However, that did not bother us too much and we arrived at the airport safely. A rather unfortunate thing happened as the bus which is supposed to take us to the airport from the Jetstar parking lot had broken down. Thus, another bus was activated. While waiting, we took the chance to get into the Captain's seat! Take a look.... Now you know why I always say Jetstar people are friendly!

Upon taking our luggage, we took a cab straight down to the famous Buddha statue in HK, which is located on Lantau Island. Wow was the way there long ---- we spent HK$150 (S$30) just to get to that place. Well, it could have cost per person HK$88 for 2 way trip if we had chosen the cable car instead. Anyway, we had to walk a flight of "God-knows-how-many-steps-there-are" steps to get to the Buddha statue. By the time we were up there, our legs were shagged till "wobbly"! I wouldn't say it's worth the climb as all you could do up there was to see the scenery around the Buddha!

We took the chance to go to some nearby temples to pray and went to walk around Ngong Ping Village. There wasn't much there except for some shops selling food and souvenirs. We were of course pretty disappointed with such a "sian" place amidst the hooha surrounding it.

We headed down to Tung Chung , a nearby MTR station, again by the way of cab. There was a shopping centre there and we settled for lunch before walking around. While shopping, we observed that there's such a thing called "Outlets" stores eg, Levi's Outlet, Adidas Outlet where you get to buy their stuff which have already been phased out from the original stores. Thus, the items there may be priced lower to attract you to buy. After about an hour or so, we left the place empty-handed and rode on the MTR to our hotel - Ramada Hotel, which is located on Hong Kong Island. As we were taking a rest there, KahWee's HK friend was making his way to our hotel to join us. He brought us to Mongkok, a rather famous Night Market area, the place where Woman Street is, via the tram and MTR.

Had our dinner by eating the street food. We shopped around, looking for great bargains and sure we did! It was a tiring walk as the shopping belt was really long. However, it was worthwhile as we got our fair share of goods. It all ended off at about 11pm as we proceeded back to the hotel.

Day 2

We woke up at a modestly early 9am and searched around the hotel area for some quick breakfast bites. A restaurant boasting numerous dishes of cheap dim sum caught our eye. Indeed, the prices of the dim sum were quite on the low end and we feasted on several dishes. They tasted about the same as those kind you find in Singapore but with a price that's headed southwards.

With that, we hurried to the highly-anticipated Ocean Park!! The entrance fee was an astounding HK$185 but it was reasonable considering the fun we had and the time spent there.

Saw a real panda for the first time in my life... Gosh were they cute!!

It was almost 6pm. We took a cab down to the MTR station - Central (something like Singapore's City Hall) and boarded a train to Tsim Sha Shui. Avenue of Stars was located there and we managed to catch 5-min snippet of the famous laser show. I would say it's quite a let-down as the laser show wasn't as nice as expected and in fact it was pretty dull with the lasers turning here and there not to the tune of the music. It could have been done much better. Nevertheless, we took some quick pics of the area.

As it was still early, we strolled down to the nearby shopping belt for another buying frenzy!!

Day 3

Reveille : 8am
We met up with Kah Wee's friend who brought us to a renowned restaurant at Central MTR Station to have our daily breakfast fix - dim sum!! The variety and price were about the same as the one we went to the previous day. It was equally delicious and our stomachs were definitely bloated after that =)

We had originally planned to crash HK Uni's lecture which starts at 10.30am. But Theodric, Weihan and mi decided not to as it was quite meaningless. So we headed to the nearby arcade to play Time Crisis 4 (Mind you it's cheap, just HK$4 per game) and shop around. Meanwhile, Kah Wee went ahad with his friend to HK Uni.

We met up at the Victoria Peak bottom at 11.30am. This destination was originally phased off from the itinerary but we were tasked to buy a Hard Rock Cafe T-Shirt for RSM so we so-called had no choice but to go (Hard Rock Cafe is located at the Peak). Anyway, we didn't regret it as we experienced what taking a tram up to the Peak is like.

As expected, the view from the top of the Peak was marvellous. We grabbed the chance to soak in the natural atmosphere as cool air blew from the bottom of the hill up.

After managing to source for Hard Rock, we made our way downhill.

We went on a shopping madness once again, this time round spanning a bigger area - The whole stretch between 3 MTR stations - Mongkok, Yau Ma Tei and Jordon. In the process, we witnessed a scene whereby HK police nabbed several prostitutes and brought them into a police van. The number was as high as 20. We had initially thought a filming of movie was taking place as there were TV crews around with so many onlookers. Little did we expect to see such a commotion during such a short stay there. At the end of our shopping extravaganza, we "sneaked" into a massage parlour enquiring about the price of decent massage. They quoted it at HK$350 for 45min, including sex. We asked again if it could be just pure massage and not with sex included, and they replied "It's ok without sex, the girls will also be fine with being just naked". We left the place immediately.

Day 4

Reveille: 6.30am

Went to had dim sum breakfast at a restaurant just next door to our hotel, before going back to take our barang barang and hopped on to a direct bus to the airport.

This HK Trip ended off at the blink of an eye. Hope to be able to go overseas some time soon. The destination is not important, but the companion is. And I must say I enjoyed myself thoroughly throughout these 4 short but sweet days. ^_^

Thailand Trip 22-26March06

Yep made a last minute decision to follow my mum and sis to Thailand last week since my dad last minute back out due to some other committments.. Took AirAsia (since i won a pair of free tics... hahah) on 22March... The flight was delayed by half an hour.

Upon arriving, we checked in to our budget hotel (erm nt Hotel 81 hahah) and proceeded to the nearest shopping centre for dinner lorz...

Had our first dinner in Thailand at MK Restaurant at Big C Shopping Centre. Apparently Singapore used to have MK restaurant a few months back but it closed down soon after. There are hundreds of them in Thailand though.

2nd Dae:
Spent some time shopping at Central Shopping Centre nearby in the morning. Bought some stuff at the Departmental Store which was also named Central. Afternoon took a 2h fast ride on a bus to Chiracha, a sub-urban area. Checked in to the service apartment we booked upon reaching. As it was renovated recently, it looked very new. Take a look:

Proceeded to the renowned Mini Siam Miniature Garden. There were small replicas of famous landmarks in some countries. There was even one of the Merlion but I didn't take a photo of it. Hee...

Day 3

Went to the Sriracha Tiger Zoo. It was like a mini zoo with performances by Tigers, Crocodiles and Pigs. There was even an enclosure called "Happy Family" with a Pig, Dog and Tiger living happily together. However, due to the glass, I couldn't get a clear picture of them. Hai =(

Having a feast at the Zoo's restaurant. There were tons of tourists around. Eh crocodile meat was in the menu too. It looked disgusting because there were hundreds of crocodiles being kept in the zoo, with you knowing it'll be served on the tables very soon. Brr...

Day 4

Went to shop at various shopping centres, including the damn grand Siam Paragon and MBK with cheap cheap goods at a steal. Read in the papers a few days back that these few shopping centres have been closed due to riot. I am lucky enough to have gone there last week instead. Phew!! =/

Day 5

Had an early flight so didn't go anywhere.

At a cafe eating as our flight was postponed by 2h. No AirAsia flights for mi anymore!! Grr...

New camera, new life!!

Backtrack a little... HQ peeps had a cohesion dinner at Tung Lok Restaurant opposite SAFTI MI last thursday night. Had Ala Carte buffet, so we ordered as much as we could, especially for those limited ones, we ordered the maximum amount. Mwhahah... It was quite a spread, but it wasn't really fun with CO sitting in the same table as us.

Saturday met up with Larry and Winson to go IT Fair. I wasn't surprised at the immense number of people. Larry was aiming to buy a laptop which in the end he didn't buy. For me, though I didn't manage to get a digital camera, I bought it on Sunday - Casio Exilim Z600. Boasting of 6MP, 3x optical n 4x digital zoom, it was what I had been looking forward to buying. Anyway, we proceeded to makan at Pastamania and watched the lame Date Movie. It was really lame enough to be hilarious. Thumbs up=) Over the weekend, bounced into JiaSheng, Darryl, Soon Ming and Kenny. Really very qiao...

Yesterday went to Pauline's house to play mahjong. I lost a few bucks!! Sob sob... Amanda was the ultimate winner followed by Pauline. Monica lost money too... Here are a few pics to show evidence...

First-ever HQ cohesion outing

It was a busy Friday morning, packed with tons of jobs waiting for mi to complete. As I rushed through the piles of work, thoughts of the HQ outing later in the day floated in my mind. What is it gonna be like?? Will the officers have fun totally and not talk about office work at all?? Images of various scenarios began to surface.

Soon enough, it was already 12.30pm. Mi n my bunk mates began to rush to bunk to get changed and be ready. While changing, 2LT Alvin Tay called and said all the drivers (basically the majors, RSM and LTA Jon) were waiting for us already!! We rushed back to our HQ, signed out and sprinted into our officers car. It was like a pandemonium as everyone rushed to hop on to the respective cars they were allocated to. When everyone were ready, the drive to Chevron began. One by one the cars left the carpark and headed to the destination.

Our activity for this outing was bowling. All the HQ personnels, including some going-to-ORD-personnels who joined us, were divided into 4 teams. We had originally planned to play 3 games, but some idiotic Raffles Primary apparently had booked our lanes for 3.30pm slot. By that time, we only managed to play 2 games and a few rounds in the 3rd game. Nevertheless, as prizes had already been set for the top scorer and the top team, results for only the first 2 games were taken into account. This was bad news for 2 of the teams (not including mine) because they only excelled in the 3rd game!! Hee... Anyway, 2LT Alvin grabbed the top scorer honour and won himself of all things a Popular voucher!! Lol... My team was the overall champion and each team member will get a movie ticket each. Well, at least it's better than nothing. Hahah... By then it was around 3.45pm and we headed straight home after that.

I enjoyed myself thoroughly during this outing though I do not like being in this battalion. It was probably due to some wacky friends I made there that helped brighten my life a little. If not for them, I seriously don't know what my life there will be. However, the sad thing is jokers like LTA Inderjit are going to ORD. In fact they had already started clearing leave. Nevertheless, there are still great guys around there, with a gal sergeant just posted back in my unit this week. She seems great. Yahoo!! ^_^

Felt so out of place. Felt so old, away from the usual young atmosphere loitering around. Could it be due to my age?? Everywhere was filled with screams and gorgeous gals waiting for guys to pick up. A typical ACJC indeed. Went to makan cookies and cream ice-cream... A shocking $4!! The oreo milkshake afterwards was not cheap either, considering it tastes literally like oreo blended mixed with milk... urgh... at a whooping $3!! It was crowded everywhere. With no directions to follow, we just walked wherever there's a road leading us somewhere else. As the sky begin to darken, we walked away from ACJC and took a bus to town...

Met up with some JC peeps to go to some NTU carnival to buy charity tickets to help some needy. If not for Mag, my presence would not have been felt. Hahah... As it poured heavily across Cineleisure, we ate chocolate mushmallow and bought some drinks. CK played some games and ate mee siam too. We simply don't know what else we can spend the tickets on, so we decided to leave after a while. Bought chicken cutlet from Shi Lin before bidding farewell to them, & joining Javin at Raffles Place after that. Hung out with him till nearly 12 before heading for home sweet home.

Much has been said about eye infection arising from wearing contact lenses. Bausch and Lomb solutions have been removed from shelves. Thorough investigations are undergoing right now at this moment. This is in contrast to the increasing number of people turning to contact lenses to look more perfect and elegant. I guess I'll still stick to my reliable and not-so-good-looking spectacles for now. No matter what, it's still safer.

It's raining right now as I am typing this post. Why does it always rain on weekends and not on weekdays when I am in camp? It simply spoils the weekend mood. Nevertheless, I am already counting down to my ORD, even though it is still 8 months away. Hope time flies in these 8 months. Cheers=)

M1 has surprised mi yet again yesterday with yet another knocking change to their plans. It used to be that only new subscribers can sign up for the new M1 student plan, but after my feedback a week or so back, they have decided to change the terms and conditions and allow everyone including existing subscribers to sign up!! To thank mi for my feedback, I was given 3 months free caller-id again!! You may be wondering why I am so excited about this plan. What is so special about it... Let's take a look:

Though it ceases if I purchase a handset, at least I get to enjoy rebates while having no contract, especially since I only intend to purchase handset when I ord dis coming november =) I would be given a handset voucher worth $100 as an alternative too, but doubt I'll be using it...

M1 will also be launching 3.5G by this year, far ahead of Singtel and Starhub. 3.5G has access speeds of up to 9 times faster than current 3G technology. Seems like I won't be upgrading my handset anytime soon too. Shall wait for 3.5G handsets, which will be coming by end of this year!! ^_^

I also received my bill yesterday. As usual, my usage didn't exceed. Sometimes I wonder where people hear the rumours of soaring high M1 bills from. None of my family members has experienced it, and so are the rest whom I know are using M1.

Actually this isn't the first time they have taken my feedback so seriously. About 2 years back, I feedback to them too to introduce a plan similar to Starhub's old MTV plan which provides 1000 sms and half-day free incoming. M1 took about 2 weeks to consider and eventually came up with that plan called Suntext. It was exactly the same package as Starhub's, but it was $9 cheaper. I was of course contacted to see if I am interested. I agreed to the plan immediately, and was awarded 3 months free caller-id too for my feedback. Overwhelmed and joyful was I at that time.

It's this dedication, with excellent customer service (the only operator which you don't have to hold on the phone for hours and can't reach a customer service officer) that has kept mi going on with M1. 1 life. Live it.

Hmm seems to be my 2nd post which I type in camp... Yeah today my unit practically has no one because all officers and regulars are involved in a Battalion Retreat @ Changi chalet. Companies A and B troopers are on block leave and so only a few of us the HQ personnels are left lorz. Don't even know what to do now. Lol... Shall just wait to pass i guess.

Had a really tiring time drying 14 camoe nets on monday wif jack, joachim n lta inderjit. It was till the point where I got sun-burnt and my face was piping hot and red. Lol. Drove around the camp in inderjit's Chevrolet Optra. As the weather was pretty hot, we didn't even dare lie on his seats in the car simply because it was hot too!! haha... It was a tiring yet fun experience especially with inderjit's usual super-duper funny jokes. He's going to clear leave real soon. Will miss his jokes manz.. He also wrote an email to lta jonathan to give us "offs" for doing such a great job. Woohoo~~ He's the man sia!!

Tuesday was an equally weird day. Lazed around the office before going Changi Chalet at 3pm to help unload some stores there lorz. Requested to book out from there and was approved!! While taking bus 2 to Bedok, met YuHian who coincidentally boarded the same bus. Javin couldn't join mi as he could only leave work at 7. YuHian wanted to go Parkway which is really near my house, so we shared cab upon reaching Bedok. With this, I reached home around 6.10pm nia, which is damn early lorz. haha...

Yesterday applied leave. Erm I was forced to. Anyway met up with Amanda for KLunch before we met up with Jenny and go walk walk and had a sip at Starbucks. Had a really great time chatting and fooling around. Treated Amanda to Rhumba lorz because I lost in a match with her at the Pucks game in the arcade. Grr!! Proceeded home after that lorz.

This saturday will be packed with activities sia. Noon going to ACJC carnival, then proceed to Cineleisure for NTU's carnival before meeting up with Javin at 7pm. Hope it'll be another great weekend, not for mi only but for everyone. Cheers!! ^_^

Love has always and will always be the hottest topic among young peeps... It's very obvious some go for the sake of having it -- to show to others that they have the ability to attract the opposite sex, and how well they maintain the relationship... Going to each other's house and even get to know their parents through games like mahjong. Some even got involved in intimate contacts. But is this really necessary?? Of course undeniably some are really in love with each other, however this is not always the case.

I always believe in not wasting one's time. Yeah, you may have the most handsome, doting boyfriend or the most chio, loving girlfriend around, but if you do not even love him/her for her personality and is using him/her as a flower vase, why bother?? You will still have friends to mingle with on weekends even without a stead... At most, spend some quality time with your family. Afterall, would you even be on this earth right now at this point in time if not for their care over the past 10 to 20 years??

Someone who tried to "chase" mi some time back but failed contacted mi recently. She apparently have found someone who likes her and is willing to dedicate all his time to her. Hmmz all I can say is All the best n hope that you two will have a lasting and fruitful relationship. Though we cliqued very well last time, I thought it would have been better for us to be just friends. Even for now, we'll still be friends won't we? =) All I wanna listen to now is the song Tian Kong by Jolin...

Being single doesn't mean you are not loved at all. There's still love from your family and friends. In fact, their love is more important than anyone else's. They are the ones whom you can confide your problems in, and be assured of a consolation and probably a useful solution.

It's nice to be attached, but it's not nice to be attached to a flower vase. Best wishes to all true love birds. Happy Valentine's Day ^_^

Memoirs of a Geisha

Watched Memoirs of a Geisha yesterday. It was a very unique movie in which it describes the life of a Geisha. It's been quite some time since I last watched a movie of such genre. Felt kinda awkward watching Gong Li and Zhi Yi speak english, n ironically in a movie describing a Japanese culture. Nevertheless, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars =) Bounced into Weiyang, LTA Goh Hong Boon and Magdalene too. Wow what a coincidence wor.

Hmm I have added a new section called "Quotes" of the Day at the left hand side bar... A new quote appears whenever the page is refreshed. I currently have 13 quotes in my database. New quotes will be added to the collection soon and of course outdated ones will be phased out accordingly too. Hope they help add a dash to your online experience whenever you visit my blog, though they are rather meaningless. Haha. Cheers!! ^_^

In case you didn't notice, my tag-board has also changed. Complains were heard about the old tag-board, so I have decided to ditch it and jumped ship to another website. Lolx.

yosh peeps welcome to my all-new blog with its all-new address!! Decided to change my blog address out of no hesitation. No reason why, just a simple flick in my mind.

Anyway, it has been a pretty easy time for me the past few weeks, as my CO is in NZ for an exercise. Hee=) Could slack around a little. An amazing discovery was that Jia Sheng, a friend from my 1st 3 months class in MJC, is now my Battalion Signal Officer (BSO) !! N i am supposed to be under him liaoz. Woohoo~~ Makes great news huh?? Lolx... Choon Guang from MJC too was posted to GS's unit!! There cant be anything more coincidental that that huh? Hahah...

Various striking news appeared in the papers recently too.. Apple CEO announced that iPod will finally have FM liaoz. It will be a tuner plucked into either a nano or video ipod. Levi's brought further good news by announcing that they will be introducing a jeans specially for ipod!! Wow, nothing can be cooler than this man!! Another striking news is that NSmen will now get bonuses in recognition of their efforts!! But the sad thing is that it'll be a measly $100 or $200. Hai~~ It's better than nothing though=)

Yuppy Chinese New Year is coming!! Have you guys bought any new T-Shirts?? I did and it was during christmas where lots of sales were going on! Mwahah ^_^ Will be visiting one of my MIB's friend's house and also gather up with my BMT friends!! It's been a long time since we met sia. Cant wait to meet up dudes! Lolx...

If you have not noticed yet, I have also changed the format of my typing a little. There are lesser short terms as I find them rather disturbing at times actually. Hee.. Furthermore, I realise that my English standard has been deteriorating recently. Probably what some people is true - Army makes one stupid. lolx...
